How To Have A Productive January Job Search January can be a time where you feel the most motivated to make some all important changes in your life and for some this means a time for a new job. If this is the case, follow these helpful tips to help make the most out of your January job search. Set time apart from the usual day-to-day If you are currently employed it can be difficult to motivate yourself after a long day at work to search for a new job. But New year, new CV! Its time for a complete CV revamp and when is a more perfect time to do this than in the new year? You can try updating the key sections including; employment history, key skills and your opening bio. If you think this is up to scratch try a new format or get someone else to have a look over it because they might notice something you didnt. Be proactive Be proactive in your job search. If you are interested in working somewhere but that company is not currently hiring, try reaching out to them anyway what have you got to lose? Send them an email introducing yourself and explain why you want to work there and it could work in your favour. This is because it showcases a genuine interest, initiative and a proactive approach. Even if they have nothing available currently, you may be the first person they think of when a new position arises, depending on how much you made an impression! Stay motivated New year, new me! Feeling motivated in the first week of January is easy but remaining motivated for the whole month or even the year is more challenging. So to stay motivated try setting yourself goals for the new year and this will hopefully keep you motivated as you aim to achieve them. It also helps you to stick to a routine, so when you wake up in the morning you feel motivated and ready for the day.
